Ammonia Refrigerant in a Gas-Fired System

Ammonia is also used as a refrigerant in a gas-fired system. As the ammonia is moved through the system, it changes state becoming strong and weak vapor and a liquid. Chilled water is used as a circulation coolant. Very few electrical pumps are needed. Fans are still needed to remove the collected heat. A pump is needed for circulating the ammonia.
