Samsung Refrigerator Fan Motor Wiring Diagram

A refrigerator fan motor is a device that circulates cold air inside the refrigerator and freezer compartments. It also helps to prevent frost buildup and maintain a uniform temperature. A refrigerator fan motor is usually located behind the back wall of the freezer or refrigerator section, depending on the model.

A Samsung refrigerator fan motor is a type of BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) motor that is driven by DC 7~12V. It has three wires: red, yellow, and blue. The red wire is the power supply, the yellow wire is the ground, and the blue wire is the signal. The signal wire controls the speed and direction of the fan motor, depending on the temperature and humidity sensors.

The following table shows the basic wiring diagram of a Samsung refrigerator fan motor, based on the service manuals of some models.

Table

Wire Color Function Terminal
Red Power CN30-1
Yellow Ground CN30-2
Blue Signal CN76-1

The terminal numbers may vary depending on the model, so you should always refer to the specific wiring diagram of your refrigerator before attempting any repairs or replacements. You can also use a multimeter to test the voltage and resistance of the fan motor and its wires.

To test the fan motor for voltage, you need to set the multimeter to DC voltage mode and connect the probes to the red and yellow wires. You should get a reading of 7~12V when the compressor is on and the fan is running. If you get no voltage or a lower voltage, there may be a problem with the power supply or the fan motor itself.

To test the fan motor for resistance, you need to set the multimeter to ohm mode and disconnect the fan motor from the wiring harness. Then, connect the probes to the red and yellow wires. You should get a reading of 100~300 ohms, depending on the model. If you get a very high or low resistance, or no continuity, the fan motor may be defective.

If you need to replace the fan motor, you should first unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel of the freezer or refrigerator section. Then, disconnect the fan motor from the wiring harness and unscrew it from the mounting bracket. You can then install the new fan motor by reversing the steps. Make sure to align the fan blades correctly and secure the wires properly.
